When I arrived at Nisa Homes with my children, I was broken.
Not only was I financially, emotionally and psychologically abused by both my husband and his family, my heart broke even more as I watched my children live under the threat of physical abuse.
We were constantly under surveillance, with no semblance of privacy in our life. My in-laws went as far as getting footage of intimate moments between me and my husband, which they threatened to release on the internet.
I was losing my mind. I knew I had to get out of there to save myself and my children.
A friend of mine told me about Nisa Homes, to where I made my escape. When I got there, I was embraced with so much support and warmth. It took some time but I was able to heal enough to go back to school to earn my degree in engineering.
I was able to get a job with a great company and am now providing for myself and my kids. None of this would be possible without the help of all the ladies at Nisa Homes.
I’m so grateful that I was given a second chance at life, a chance to start over.
