Eid is a time of celebration with your family and friends.
Despite the struggles the women and children in our homes face, the warmth of celebration and familial connection that is synonymous with Eid is important to instill amongst our residents.
We make it a goal to ensure that Eid is a time for these women and children to celebrate together as a family with new clothes, a warm feast and gifts for everyone.
Here are some of the ways we get the residents in the spirit of festivities at Eid.
Decorating the Home
To get in the spirit of Eid, the residents of each Home decorates their common areas with festive decorations. Balloons, streamers and signs – which are sometimes made by the residents themselves- deck the walls, getting young and old excited for the coming holiday!
Nisa Homes Eid Bazaar
Everyone loves Eid shopping! Every Eid, each of the Homes sets up an Eid Bazaar for the residents. The Eid Bazaar gives our residents the chance to shop for and pick out what they would like to wear on Eid – clothes, shoes, handbags, makeup, hijabs and more!
Buying new clothes, accessories and toys for your kids is what contributes to making Eid so special. Our Bazaar gives the residents an opportunity to get in on the fun!
Eid Party
Once the Homes are decorated, we prepare delicious food or have a meal generously provided by community members. The women and children of the Homes come together as one family and celebrate this blessed day with one another.
Eid celebrations would not be possible without the support from our amazing community. Jazakallahu khairan for making this holiday special for the women and children of Nisa Homes!
